Having owned several (non-SLR) digital cameras, and a Nikon F90
(N90) film SLR, I recently entered the world of digital SLR cameras
by buying a D70.
It's not for nothing that the world loves the D70. It's
brilliant. If you're thinking of getting one then stop thinking and
just do it :-)
In time there will be more D70 info added to this web site but,
for now, the main purpose of this site is to provide information on
one particular issue that has come to concern a number of new D70
owners and prospective D70 buyers.
The issue is that of focus. Some folks have found that,
particularly when using the kit lens, some of their images are not
correctly focused. This problem manifests primarily when shooting
close-ups at wide apertures.
After doing lots of research and testing, I produced a simple and
effective test that quickly shows up these focus problems if they
exist on your camera.
You can read all about it on the focus chart
page and download the full test,
including all instructions and the test chart, and try it out
yourself.
